She also served as an ambassador for the College of Agriculture and worked as communications intern for the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Raney Lovorn, editorial Originally from Winnsboro, Texas, Lovorn hit the ground running with the editorial and communications team at Angus Media. Her responsibilities include contributing to the Angus Journal, the Angus Beef Bulletin and the electronic Angus Beef Bulletin EXTRA. She has also assisted in managing the 2015 NJAA/ Angus Journal Photo Contest and will provide event coverage for multiple industry events. "This is an incredible opportunity for me to earn experience in a fi eld that I dearly love," Lovorn says. "For an agricultural communications student with interests in journalism and animal science, working for the Angus Journal is truly a dream job." Lovorn is a senior at OSU, pursuing a bachelor's degree in agricultural communications with a double major option in animal science. On campus, she works as a communications and graphic design intern in the College of Human Sciences. Lovorn also serves as a public relations committee member for the OSU Homecoming Steering Committee and a Student Academic Mentor (SAM) in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Lovorn grew up on a small family farm as the daughter of an agricultural science teacher. Her writing and editing experience began at an early age, fi rst writing feature stories competitively in high school and maintaining a weekly column in her hometown newspaper. She is a former Junior Beefmaster Breeder's Association offi cer and board member. Lovorn has a heart for family-centered farms and helping ranchers with small herds receive the most value out of their cattle investment. Andrea Foore, junior activities The NJAA welcomes Andrea Foore of Seven Valleys, Pa., to Saint Joseph as the 2015 junior activities summer intern. A fourth-generation registered-Angus breeder, Foore brings a lifelong enthusiasm for the Angus breed to her new position. She recalls some of her earliest memories working on her family farm, moving cattle across pastures and learning about the Angus business. This summer, Foore will be traveling across the country assisting members of the NJAA with preview shows and coordinating contests for the NJAS. "When I was 9, I got to show in my fi rst junior show. I have been involved in the industry my whole life and loved every second of it," Foore says. "My past experience will be a benefi t this summer, as I have already been to many Angus shows. [I have] been on the other side, so I know what questions there are and the procedures that are followed." An active member of the Pennsylvania Junior Angus Association, Foore has held numerous offi ces and titles, in addition to working as chair on committees for the 2007 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show (ERJAS) and the 2011 NJAS hosted in Pennsylvania. "Andrea was able to jump in and quickly contribute to planning for our slate of summer shows and events," says Jaclyn Upperman, American Angus Association director of events and education. "We are fortunate to have an individual with such enthusiasm and energy for the breed as part of our team." Foore attends Penn State University, where she is pursuing a degree in agribusiness management. On campus, she is a member of the Penn State Livestock Judging Team, Block & Bridle Club and Collegiate CattleWomen. She is employed at the Penn State beef and sheep center. "I'll be meeting a lot of new people this summer and gaining a lot of experiences from this internship; I cannot be thankful enough for how fortunate I am to have this opportunity," Foore says. "The American Angus Association is the largest breed in the country, and I am extremely lucky to have an internship at a place of such high prestige in the cattle industry." Foore joins extended intern Jena Wagner, who has been with the Association since January. Brady Jensen, AGI AGI welcomes Brady Jensen as its summer intern. Jensen will be focused on developing the MaternalPlus® program. "I am truly excited to be working with the largest beef breed in the country, and especially in a fi eld I have a deep passion for," Jensen says. "The people and experience I will get the opportunity to endure this summer are what internships are all about." Originally from Courtland, Kan., Jensen is a recent graduate of K-State with a bachelor's degree in animal science and industry and a minor in business. On campus, Jensen was a member of the Collegiate Cattlemen's Club and participated on the livestock judging team. He will continue his education in animal breeding and genetics at K-State while working as assistant livestock judging coach. Growing up on a purebred cattle operation, Jensen was very involved in junior breed association activities. He currently serves as chairman of the National Junior Hereford Association Board of Directors.
