T he American Angus Association and its entities take great pride in investing in the beef industry's future generations. With paid internships and scholarship programs, the Association provides a chance for students to gain real-world knowledge and experience in the cattle industry, as well as fnancial support to further the education of undergraduate and graduate students passionate about Angus cattle. Deadlines and details for each internship and scholarship follow. Angus Internships The American Angus Association Events & Education Department provides an internship experience focused on planning for youth events hosted by the National Junior Angus Association (NJAA). The selected intern will assist with preparations, communications and correspondence for junior shows and events. Applicants must be enrolled in an agriculture-related major, and consider themselves a self-starter, detail- oriented and an outgoing individual who has the ability to work well with others. Travel to the 2015 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), Leaders Engaged in Angus Development (LEAD) Conference, and other shows and events is expected. Applications are due Feb. 6, 2015. The Association Communications & Public Relations Department is accepting applications from college juniors or seniors studying journalism, agricultural communications or related felds. Applicants should have strong writing and design skills, in addition to having completed coursework in news and feature writing, editing and design. Experience in photography, video and social media is an asset in this fast-paced internship. The internship spans from approximately late-May to mid-August, with specifc starting and ending dates depending on the applicant's availability.
